Local Area Information
The local area around The Croft@Frogs Hole Barn are the towns of Sissinghurst and Biddenden.
Sissinghurst Castle is a very popular tourist destination, the gardens being of particular interest to those with (or without) green fingers. They were laid out by Rita Sackville West who lived at the castle in the early 1900's and have been written about and emulated ever since. You can see only one house from the Tower at Sissinghurst Castle and only in winter when the leaves are off the trees and that is Frogs Hole Barn with its very large Catslide roof.
The village of Sissinghurst has a lovely pub called The Milkhouse which serves great pub food al la carte or outside they serve pizzas and burgers alfresco dining.
The Village of Biddenden, very pretty Wealdon village with Flemish Weavers Cottages lining the main street. The town emblem is that of a pair Siamese Twins, born in the 1100's which was unusual for the time, but they survived to the age of 34 as they were well cared for by their wealthy family.
There is a 2* Michelin Resturant called the West House. There is also a pub called The Red Lion and a small bakery for coffees.
